Attendance rates have dropped in bulk-billed Doctor’s clinics. Since the announcement of the $7 co-payment in Treasurer Hockey’s budget clinics in struggling areas have recorded noticeable downloadreduction in patient numbers.

Even though the co-payment is not due to be voted on until mid next year.

The Australian Medical association is desperately trying to reassure patients they will pay no more for a visit to the Doctor. But numbers are dropping off precipitously in some areas. Western Sydney clinics had reported significant cancellations of patient appointments since the budget was announcement last week.

Should hospital emergency wards announce a rise in admissions similar t the clinic drops it will seem most Australians will have already found their way around a co-payment that isn’t even there.
